Second Storie Indie Market

It was a full, long, exciting, tiring and completely fabulous weekend at Second Storie Indie Market!! I was privileged to be surrounded by such amazing artists + crafters.
I made some amazing purchases for Christmas gifts (but I can't share them just yet with you! it's a surprise) But a lucky few might just end up with something from Fuzzy Bunny, Dulcie Miller Clayworks or Crude Crafts... hmm.. bet you're wondering if it's you. Too bad I'm not telling...

But I did manage to snag myself a few little something specials from Small Bird and Cecilia Hayes, Hey Buddy, Concepcioun, and The Great Lakes! I will have to post pics once I get some new batteries for my dead camera!

Now, it's time to relax a little and get into the Christmas spirit! I think this weekend may be tree trimming time and my annual battle with putting on the lights... if it wasn't so pretty when it was finished I could skip that part! oh well....

Hope the week goes well and you catch the holiday spirit too!

so excited!

i was so sad to have to leave second storie this morning to go to work. It was just getting to that exciting point when the doors are opened and everyone comes to shop and meet and chat!
The space looked amazing and we had many helpers who made it happen! Thank you!

The most exciting part came when I got word that all 3 news stations came to cover the event. It's so nice to have media support and it lets more people know just how much fun and rewarding shopping our vendors can be!

It's almost 1am and I am baking quiche for our vendor breakfast tomorrow. I'm running on pure adrenaline right now. I had a wonderful dinner with some of our vendors and some new friendly faces at Owl House tonight! Great company and food! what more could I ask for!

Must go or quiche will not be edible!

Hope to see you tomorrow at Second Storie Indie Market!!

Gearing up!

It has been super crazy and exciting getting ready for second storie indie market, well this whole last year. Organizing and getting all the details just right and working with great friends to accomplish it has its wonderful moments and its rip your hair out of your head how will we ever get this all done moments.

It's fantastical (yes I said fantastical!) to be there just the five of us (Shanna, JoAnn, Karen, Rachael and myself) in a just decorated space that is simply beautiful. To see your vision come to life and be exactly how you hoped makes all the effort and long hours and crazy times so worth it.

What makes it even more fantastical of an experience is being surrounded by such immensely talented artists + crafters for a whole weekend. Forging new friendships, catching up with old friends and umm did I mention the most amazing art + craft that I need a second job in order to support my addiction of purchasing incredibly beautiful, fun and handmade goodness these vendors bring.... So exciting! (that last sentence said in one full breath because i'm so excited!)

It pushes me to work harder to make my art as amazing as theirs. That's a big challenge but there are so many wonderful people who give advice and trade information and just plain help you get better that just talking to them makes the day great.

So, I'm busy today putting the finishing touches on my work. Here's a sneak peak just for you...
